Insurability

Many risks are insurable. The criteria for this are: It is random, the events are independent of one another and can be clearly defined, the loss distribution is known and can be calculated using risk-adjusted premiums. This applies both to traditional risks such as accidents, but also to larger risks such as cyber risks or damage caused by natural hazards. Earthquake risk is also insurable.
