Das Institut für Versicherungswirtschaft (IVW) ist ein innovatives Forschungs-, Weiterbildungs- und Beratungsinstitut der Universität St. Gallen. Die Arbeitsschwerpunkte bilden die vier Kompetenzbereiche General Management, Versicherungsmarketing, Financial Services und Integriertes Risiko-Management. Zwei strategische Geschäftseinheiten – Trendmonitoring sowie Organisations- und Personalentwicklung – dienen vor allem der Wissensvermittlung.

Die HEC Lausanne beherbergt mit dem Department of Actuarial Science (DSA) eine international ausgerichtete akademische Einheit für versicherungsmathematische Lehre und Forschung. Das Department befasst sich mit quantitativen Fragestellungen der Versicherungsmathematik, insbesondere der Risikotheorie, Insurance Economics sowie der Analyse von Altersversorgungssystemen, und schlägt dabei eine Brücke zur Finanzmathematik. Es ist aktiv in der universitären Ausbildung im Bereich Actuarial Science, publiziert wissenschaftliche Arbeiten von hoher Qualität und pflegt enge Kontakte zu international führenden Forschenden sowie zur Versicherungswirtschaft.

The Institute for Risk & Insurance is a center of competence for economic and sociological issues in the insurance industry, making an important contribution to the professional qualification of specialists in the insurance sector through its Business Administration bachelor programme focusing on Risk & Insurance and through a broad offer of advanced courses and specialist conferences.
In addition, the Center offers application-orientated research and consultancy services.

Swiss Insurance Medicine (SIM) is the name of the Swiss insurance medicine interest group. The group works to promote quality control in insurance medicine and to improve the quality of education in this domain. Active in all lines of insurance, the group contributes to the education of doctors, medical experts and specialists beyond the realm of medicine.
