At the ‘Day of In­sur­ers 2021’ to­day in Lugano, Rolf Dörig, pres­i­dent of the Swiss In­sur­ance As­so­ci­a­tion SIA, em­pha­sised the im­por­tant role of the sec­tor dur­ing the coro­n­avirus pan­dem­ic.

The 52 del­e­gates elect­ed Thomas Boy­er and Jean-Daniel Laf­fe­ly to the 14-strong Man­ag­ing Board. Markus Lei­bundgut and Rolf Dörig were re-elect­ed, the lat­ter as Chair­man.

The SIA is a mem­ber and part­ner of var­i­ous na­tion­al and in­ter­na­tion­al as­so­ci­a­tions and or­gan­i­sa­tions. These ex­cel­lent con­nec­tions help it to rep­re­sent the in­ter­ests and con­cerns of its mem­bers.

The SIA is the in­dus­try as­so­ci­a­tion of the Swiss pri­vate in­sur­ance in­dus­try. It rep­re­sents the in­ter­ests of its mem­bers at na­tion­al and in­ter­na­tion­al lev­el.

The Swiss in­sur­ance in­dus­try has had a suc­cess­ful year – pre­mi­um vol­umes in both non-life and life in­sur­ance rose again in 2019.

Once more, Swiss pri­vate in­sur­ers show ef­fi­cient per­for­mance and sta­bil­i­ty in 2018.
