Peak Rein­sur­ance AG has now be­come a mem­ber of the Swiss In­sur­ance As­so­ci­a­tion (SIA). The SIA would like to wel­come this rein­sur­er to the in­dus­try as­so­ci­a­tion for Swiss pri­vate in­sur­ers.

At the ‘Day of In­sur­ers’ in Lucerne, the chair­man of the Swiss In­sur­ance As­so­ci­a­tion SIA called for more sus­tain­abil­i­ty.

De­spite the pan­dem­ic and a sum­mer marred by bad weath­er, the Swiss in­sur­ance in­dus­try once again suc­ceed­ed in mak­ing the var­i­ous as­pects of sus­tain­abil­i­ty an even firmer com­po­nent of its busi­ness.

Pri­vate in­sur­ers em­ployed 49,902 peo­ple in 2021, ac­cord­ing to the an­nu­al sur­vey con­duct­ed by the Swiss In­sur­ance As­so­ci­a­tion SIA. 

Switzer­land, as a fi­nan­cial cen­tre, is pro­tect­ing it­self against the en­hanced threat of cy­ber-crimes by es­tab­lish­ing the ‘Swiss Fi­nan­cial Sec­tor Cy­ber Se­cu­ri­ty Cen­tre’ (Swiss FS-CSC) as­so­ci­a­tion.

The Swiss in­sur­ance in­dus­try saw a 2.7 per cent in­crease in pre­mi­um vol­umes for non-life busi­ness in 2021 com­pared with the pre­vi­ous year.
